Villa Loredana

Shabby Chic décor seeps into the original 18th century features, ones installed by a Noble Family. Rustic idiosyncrasy’s are not lost and are oozing all round the house allowing oneself to transcend within minutes of walking into the Villa to a real Tuscan vibe.

Constructed in 1739, this distinctive house reflects the prosperous period of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany. Original Fresocs are dominating space and there is a notion that prominent Italian painter Anton Domenico Bamberini may have spent his final years here, likely cherishing the artwork as much as we do. Bamberini is renowned for his religious Baroque frescoes found in various churches between Florence and Pisa, including the cloister of St. Francis in San Casciano in Val di Pesa and the presbytery of the church of Santa Maria Novella in Marti, which he contributed to between 1719 and 1720.

Over the last century, Hamlet of Gramugnana, home to our Villa, featured two key buildings: a farmhouse and a winery. These places were vital to the local economy and provided jobs for many locals until the late 1950s. Villa Loredana which was the winery, was known for its stunning cellar spaces and an underground cave used for wine storage.
